SOUND OF FUTURE OCEANS
Sound of Future Oceans are listening devices and gateways to futures not yet imagined. They reconceive the discarded or cast away into something precious and full of hope. The devices invite you to stop and listen closely – can you hear a future ocean? The sound you hear is what Hawaii-based cellist and sound artist, Anna Callner Pare, imagined future oceans to encompass. Recordings of Pacific and Atlantic surf intermingle with voice, touch, and the cello. It is a reminder that future oceans depend on humans, just as humans depend on future oceans.
